Officially opened in 2005, Coventry Stadium & Arena is known as a world-class destination for sports and exhibitions. This venue can accommodate over 32,500 spectators, with capacity able to increase to 40,000 for music events. Home to both Premiership Rugby Club, Wasps, and The EFL Championship’s Coventry City Football Club, this is one of the country’s leading sports venues. The adjoining arena also serves as a renowned venue for major conferences and exhibitions, having won numerous national awards.

A multi-million pound investment is planned for Coventry Arena, with the support of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP). Through the Government’s Getting Building Fund Local Growth Fund and Growing Places Fund, this investment will transform major areas of the arena and establishing growth for years to come.

During the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Coventry Stadium will host a number of sporting events. These include Judo, Wrestling and Rugby Sevens: seven-a-side rugby, played at electric pace over a full-sized pitch. Alongside sporting competition, there will be activities for spectators to get involved in inside the stadium. There will be opportunities for audience participation, and potentially chances to meet athletes or Birmingham 2022’s official mascot, Perry the Bull!

As Official Overlay Supporter to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, GL events UK is delivering seating, warm up pitches, temporary structures, fencing, containment, tribunes, rigging, carpets, exhibition, walling, cabin showers and toilets and office cabins. Other additional elements include site lighting, trackway and portable toilets.
