This Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games venue is where the women’s and men’s Cycling – Road Race events will take place. Both the starting point and finish point reside on Myton Road, in Warwick town centre, nearby to the city’s main train station. The route will run to the edge of Royal Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park, which is a separate venue for Birmingham 2022.

Excitingly, spectators will be able to line the road race route, which will pass by the impressive Warwick Castle, which was built by William the Conqueror, and dates back to 1068.

Located close to the start and finish area is St Nicholas Park, which was originally a meadow, laid out in the 1930s alongside the River Avon. Physically demanding in nature, this challenging race involves completing laps of the route, up to a final distance of 160km for men, and 112km for women.

As Official Overlay Supporter for Birmingham 2022, GL events UK is installing tents, fencing, containment and tribunes at this venue. Other infrastructure includes rigging, carpets, exhibition walling, cabin showers and toilets, office cabins, site lighting, trackway, portable toilets and scaffolding.
